That's what I thought. So I called, and called, and called, and called. Never a tech available to talk. Left numerous messages. No call back. Started leaving messages 2 1/2 weeks ago. Apparently you can't even buycustomer service for $7000 anymore.

Acceleration from a stop is good. If I stay on it pretty hard it runs thru the gears with no problem. But if I let up and coast for a few seconds then give it throttle again, its as if I had upshifted too early with a manual. But it mucks thru it and catches up after a minute.

Go to DTT's web site, dieseltrans.com, and get the phone number from the site. Sounds like they may be a RIM custiomer. :-laf

What stall TC did you get?

With the Smarty TNT, you should have plenty of power down low in the RPM range to spin that lower stall TC.

Before Smarty, but with the injectors I had plenty of power up high the RPM range, but I still had to floor the go pedal from a stop with the 5er attached to get the truck to go. Then with Smarty and TQ on 2, I have ALOT more power down low. (which I can use with the new lower stall TC)

My buillder tried to talk me out of a 600+ hp TC during my rebuild because I'm no where close to 600hp and they thought it would perform like a boat anchor.

However, I love the lower stall TC set up for high HP. The trans now pulls hard from idle on up in the lower gears. Feels like a manual trans truck. No more slipping TC.

Your symptoms sound normal to me, but maybe you are not used to them? Just an opinion...

OK, so as far as smarty is concerned, i should have my torque setting lower? Cause i've been running it at 3 and 4.

You are probably right tho about me not being used to it but my complaint is the fact that i can get on it and power thru it but it just seems like theres a lot of lag. Idk. I had heard so many people talk about how their trucks were transformed after a built transmission, but so far i'm just not all that impressed because of this lag i'm experiencing.

TQ 4 is the highest setting, it will fuel faster and harder down low. What you are seeing is really normal with a tight TC. Once you let off the throttle fueling drops as does boost and when you get back into it it takes a bit of time for the rpm's to come back up and the turbo to spool becuase the TC is loading the engine.

Does this change at different speeds? Try the same thing starting at 25 mph and test in 10 mph higher increments. You should see it take longer to spool at higher mph. Run the truck up against a curb and slowly feed it throttle to see how much you have to give it until it jumps the curb. That will give you an idea how much throtle is needed to power thru the stall with your fueling setup.

What can I do to fix this? Maybe I screwed up and got the wrong thing but the whole idea (in my mind) was to put more power to the ground and in turn "go fast faster" . Am I just way off base here?

Thats the idea and this is sometimes the result. A little too tight and you get certain situations where it will not spool as quickly as stock. About the only way to "fix" it would be a looser converter, given this one is good.

Ok. Finally got to talk to a tech at dtt. He told me to turn the Allen head bolt that is inside thw trans on the driver side( lbolt sits horizontal with the head pointing towards the driver side) he said turn it clockwise 3/8 of a turn at my 1k mile service. So I did so earlier. It doesn't feel Luke there's near as much drag now. What bolt is that? Truck seems to drive much better now.
