Question fellas, yesterday my truck was "missing" at idle, at least thats what it felt like, ran rough, vibrated and had a different exhaust note. I should also point out a long start before this happened. I drove about 5 miles pulled over checked everything again, shut truck off for about 5 minutes, when I restarted it was fine, no miss, no rough idle, no hard start nothing. This all happened with my box on level 1 the economy setting. I checked oil for diesel fuel, nothing. When I returned home I unhooked batteries for about 35 min, then rehooked and started, all was fine no problems since. I added some ??Power Service?? fuel system treatment and it has ran fine since. Do you have any ideas, did I pull some trash through my fuel system or????? Any ideas are, as usual, greatly appreciated. Have a good Memorial Day and drive safely :)

Similar problem with mine, excpet I have no box on the MC. Runs like a "miss" rough idle. Any suggestions?

Another One??

Another '06 with a strange miss, mine happens at about 1500rpm, no matter what gear... ... ... ... ... .....

I'm not sure, but if it was missing, you would have a lot more valve noise. I get a rougher than normal idle every now and then, but it runs fine otherwise. Like you said, once I shut it down it is fine. It has never been a problem other wise. I had it happen a half dozen times on my 04. 5 over 46,000 miles and once on my 06 over 21,000 miles.

If it happens all the time, you may just need some injector cleaner or fuel conditioner.

I run the gray diesel cleanser service every tank and have changed the fuel filter twice already (mileage is less than 12,000). It also doesnt happen all the time. Wonder if it is possibly the signs of a lifter pump going bad in the tank?
