Hello all... .

Well, I broke down a few weeks ago and ordered a new 600. My 2001 H. O. has served me well, but with another tike on the way, I wanted the full 4 doors (nice excuse for the wife).

I called today, and to my shock, they had a vin # for me. Funny thing is that the rep said my delivery will be a few weeks earlier now. I asked why and he said my truck was in D1T status in Texas. Confused, I told him I thought it was built in Mexico, he replied that they have moved a bunch to the Texas facility.

Anybody have any clue about this?

Thanx!

A MORE INFORMED REP

Sorry for the wierd topic of the first posting. The rep was just so sure it was being built in texas. I finally had time to call back and this time I got a little more informed person.

The truck is set to be built on Feb. 26th, in Mexico. It will then be shipped to Larado Texas.

I asked the rep why the other clown told me Texas, he said the first shipping field and the build plant are next to each other on the screen. Aaaahhhhhh... ...

By the way, he informed me of a shipping weight. The truck ships at 6,796 lbs. Seems light.

It's a quad cab, short box, 4wd, 6 speed, sport.

Hey Klenger,

Mine's on a rail car...

TTGX963134, shipped out of Laredo on 2/2 headed for Washington State. Where do you go to track those things?

That happened to me when I first called back mid Dec-I knew it would not be built until January, but the rep told me it was built and in Winston Salem, NC-the final destination-I grilled her, and she told me it was scheduled to be built January 8th, which was correct. On later calls I usually talked with somebody who had a clue:D

Rail car #

Hey Klenger,

No rail car # just yet. They said it will ship to Larado on the 1st of March, and then take the Union Pacific to Cottage Grove Minnesota, and finally a hauler to the Cambridge dealer.

They estimated the ship time to be 15-17 days.

I ordered the truck on Jan 14th, so it looks like 8-9 weeks.

trucks are built in st. louis and mexico. I do not know of any diesel built in st. louis yet to date,in the 3rd gen anyhow. I myself am an employee of the KTP(kokomo trans plant) yes the one that builds the so-so autos:)
