Does anyone know how long the order wait is for a new truck?

I have a 3/4 ton HO in Forest Green with 3. 54 ratio on order. The dealer quoted 4-6weeks to delivery from order date, but that seems hard to believe.

I know, it's a stupid question, but I've wanted this truck for 6 years the last few weeks are killing me! (96 1/2ton 360 AT not yanking the trailer down the road so good these days. ) I thought I'd grab one before the new diesel regs screwed up all the trucks for a while. Oh yea and the old truck's breakin. (tee hee)

If it gets here before vacation I have the perfect breakin route picked out.

Talamena Senic byway from OK to AR, then up AR7 to Branson, MO. Whhheeee!!!! (Lovin' the power and the exhaust brake the whole time!)

To BOMB or not to BOMB was never a question!

I was told 6-8 weeks, took 8 weeks to the day. I had no problem waiting, almost enjoyed it, the anticipation/dreaming.

I still can't believe, but I saw the paperwork with my own eyes, my neihbor's took only 21 days!!!!!

Hello all, I ordered my 2500 QC on Jan 16, it was built the 15th of Feb and as I type this it is sitting on a railcar at the chrysler plant waiting to ship. My truck is coming from mexico so I assume it will probably take about two weeks by rail, so its going to end up being about 6 weeks or so, alot sooner than I expected, my dakota took about four months, which now I am scrambling to sell.
P. S. My dealer had this diesel clinic I went to and they said not to tow any heavy trailers for about 500 miles, because of the diff gears being new and real tight

Mine took about 8 weeks, well worth double that wait IMO. Just keep reading the TDR and purchase a service manual to pass the time.
Forgot to add... WELCOME ABOARD !!!!

Ordered 12/11/00, was suppose to ship 2/2/01.
Dealer computer showed it shipped 2/6/01. I check the status myself on the 12th. Was still being built per Chrysler. So as you can see it is over 9 weeks for me so far. I ordered the ETH/DEE. Since I stripped the old truck of all it's goodies, I am beyond the anticipation. I was also told 4 - 6 weeks. A client of mine got his in 3 weeks.
It's early, its cold, and I'm ramblin'. Good luck on your order.

Am waiting for mine as we speak-ordered it Jan. 29th (that was the last Monday of the month wasn't it? no calender handy right now) and the dealer told me maybe in 8 weeks but to be prepared for a 10 week wait. That's fine with me anyway-more time to save up $$$ for down payment and goodies right? It's possible that sending a truck up here to Canada takes longer too... .

I ordered mine on Feb. 17th and took delivery on April 17th. Mine was built in St. Louis, so it came by semi all the way to me. A Mexico truck would have taken longer to ship because of rail travel. The Mexico trucks sometimes sit in the rail yard waiting for a ride. Another thing, I saw a thread on TDR yesterday or the day before that said the 6 speeds might be held up right now. You can get some info from the Dodge 800 number while you wait. You'll need your VIN or vehicle order number. Good luck!

Runaway,
I hope your truck gets here by next Sat. so we can check it out!

Dave

As I type this my truck should be otw. Ordered it on Jan 5th and it left the plant Feb 13th. Dealer said it should be 5-10 working days after the ship date, since it's coming from St. Louis. Can't wait!!!
P. S. Welcome to the TDR!

Windrider:

I ordered a 3500 ETH DEE on January 3. When I called the 800 number two weeks later they gave me a Feburary 16 ship date. When I called last friday they still showed it in D1 status. (Scheduled to be built). Just for kicks I called the dealer today and had them to check their scheduling sheet. According to the dealer the truck was in final trim assembly last friday and should be heading this way today or tomorrow. The dealer said that their scheduling sheets have proven to be very accurate over the years. It would appear that the dealers have connections at DC for information that is alot more accurate than what we get when we call the 800 numbers. I will let you guys know when it actually shows up. Starting to get excited.

I actually feel better after reading all of the posts about the waiting club.

Thanks!

I'm just a little skittish. I ordered a Nissan last year and after 4. 5 months gave up (they missed 4 delivery dates) and bought something else. Now that was frustrating!

ordered Saturday 2/5
Dealer says it will ship Monday 2/26
Vacation begins Friday 3/23

Barring the QC pit of despair it looks like I'll have a pretty good chance of towing with the new truck on vacation.

Called the 800 number this morning and they confirmed that my truck was built and sitting out side awaiting enough vehicles comming this way so that it could be loaded onto a rail car.
