I pondered alot when I bought my truck about payment insurance. Well, they are making this months payment as I suffered a knee injury at work. Going in for a MRI on monday... could lead to surgery:{. It's a drag getting hurt but it is good to know that the old truck is being paid for while I'm laid up. Chris

Sorry to hear you got banged up... I tore my PCL this winter in a fall on the ice. I was off work 6 weeks. Good luck with your knee, the doc's decided that I did not need a PCL and five months later they apper to be right. Once the swelling went down I am fine. I would suggest getting at least two opnions on your knee, find out who treats the local football players or skiers or hockey team and get that guy to look at it. They see the real bad stuff.

As for the payment insurance, it depends on the situation. I saved up enough $$ to pay cash for the truck but ended up with a two year loan. I could have paid it off at anytime so I did not need the insurance. If I where living check to check I would have thought about it.

Never heard of payment insurance since I pay cash but here is theoretical question. If you get so banged up that you will never drive again can you sell the insured truck as though it's paid off?

I got 12 months of my truck payments from the insurance company. I never took out any insurances like it before and was hesitant to do it on this truck, but Mrs Doc insisted. Maybe she knew something that I didn't

Anyway. . taking out that insurance ended up being a good deal for me.

Ilflem, They continue paying on the truck until: I go back to work, If I can't go to my existing job, they pay until I am re habilitated and working at new job. This is the only vehicle so far that I have had to finance. My last new car, an '80 VW Diesel Dasher wagon I was able to pay cash($10,049). Could have bought three of them for the price of the truck.

JR2, thanks for the advice, I will get another opinion in case they want to cut. Chris
