I have a 2007 6.7 with 6speed auto. I was driving down the road and suddenly veh. shut off. It restarted fine and drove a few miles more and shut off again. This happened a few more times and then shut off one more time and would not crank over and no trans indicator on dash. Towed truck to a shop in town and he said modules are not communicating with TIPM. He installed new TIPM and still no communication. He has checked all the grounds and connections and found nothing. I have seen posts that said there is a TSB related to this symptom and deals with the electric fan going bad and back feeding 12 volts to ECM causing loss of communication between modules. Can the electric fan cause the engine to shut down while driving and then not restart? Any help would be greatly Appreciated. Mark

I am not sure. I will check with him.he has had the truck for three weeks now. I will most likely have it taken to the dealer. I have seen where the fan clutch can cause the no crank but am not sure if it would cause it to quit while running!

Just wanted to update, I had truck towed to a Dodge dealer and two weeks later they determine that the ECM is bad! They replaced the ECM and the communication between modules began right away and now I have my truck back and it runs good. The initial TIPM cost me $1000 and the ECM was another $2900. I have to keep reminding myself how much I love this truck every time I pour more money into it.

$1000 + $2900 HOLY COW! This makes me want to go back to the points and condenser days!
