I just pushed my luck and fuel gauge too far and need to know how to prime this beast.

I filled the filter canister with fuel and put a couple gallons in the tank, I cycled the LP then tried to start it... nothing turned it over for about 20 seconds then again... nothing :( I don't want to burn up my starter or hurt the ol' VP44 :(

What should I do??

Thanks, CJ

Your probably going to have to bleed the high pressure injection lines one at time two get the air out of the injector side. It takes to people and be careful not to cut yourself doing.

You need to loosen the nuts on the fuel lines at the injectors on as many cylinders as you can. Even two will get it started, but the more the better. Crank it like you have been... letting the starter cool between times of cranking. When fuel starts to squirt out of a line, tighten it. It might take several tries to get out enough air for it to start. I recommend giving it some throttle while cranking and keep the revs up to 1200-1500 when it starts. Expect it to run really rough for a few minutes until it gets all the air out of the system. It is the same process after changing the injection pump. Good luck. Let us know if you need more help.
