The other night my truck started to run different, the best way to describe it is a low drone. It does it when its idleing and goin down the road at any given speed. The turbo's whistle isn't as loud either. The airfilter isn't plugged, I don't have guages in yet so I'm not sure what boost is. Have a oil change and new fuel and air filters planned for this weekend. I checked the codes and got nothing, and when I returned the truck back to stock, it now blows a black haze when I get after it and before I ever put that tuner in never ever would puff a lick of black smoke only at start up.

I have a new VP, Vulcan relocation kit and a valve adjustment in store for when I get laid off in a week or two, guages will be goin in at the same time. But untill then just wondereing where to start.

Thanks,

Derek

pull the air filter hose off and see how much play is in the turbo shaft--spin it and see if you can move it up and down or side to side----if it moves to much your turbo may be going---how many miles do you have on the truck--also I reinstall the program and see if the truck acts the same--maybe you didn't get it returned to stock--chris

I checked too see how much play the turbo had last oil change and it had some, not rubbing or anything and it also had a small amount of oil residue where the silencer ring used to be. I have 145,000 miles on the truck. The truck didn't run right with the tuner on perf. tow. Thats what I have been running it at for the last while. Maybe tonight when I get home I'll reprogram it again and see what happens.

Thanks,

Derek

Check & see if any of the intercooler tubes have slipped out of their boots.

Try cleaning the IAT sensor, I did it the other day & it took about 15 minutes.

My truck hadn't been running quite right & my IAT sensor was black. I cleaned it with Air Intake cleaner & the plastic shroud returned to white. The truck runs like it used too now.

I had my fuel pressure checked & it's where it's supposed to be.
