Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck shaking like wheel hop!

I was doing about 40 with o/d off and punched it, the truck made a hammering noise and feel, kind of like bad wheel hop, but the tires weren't breaking loose. A few days later I went around a corner and started to accelerate normally and it did it again. Could this be transmission? Or is it u-joints and carrier bearing going out?

I had the same issue, I replaced the rear ds in my truck. Problem solved. Jack up the rear axle, slide under the truck, and check the carrier bearing up and down. I had to jack my rear axle up and put the truck in gear to see it before I spent the 524. 00 on the axle. The carrier bearing was wobbling all over the place.
