Anyone wire a camper to the trailer plug?

What is the torque on the drain plug?

My truck shudders at 40-45 MPH. (sort of lugging) This will stop if I lock out O/D or accelerate to change gears. Any comments???

Generally the shudder you are talking about is caused by one of two things. Either a bad TPS or burnt lock upclutches in your torqe converter.

`96 3500 4x4, JRE Stage 3 kit, JRE 4" exhaust from turbo back, low stall speed torque converter, shift kit, K&N air filter. Fisher EZ V snowplow. Towing Jackson 3 horse gooseneck w/ dressing and tack rm. , or 9 ton equipment trailer w/pintle.

Rusty Nail: I had a like problem. It would shudder at lock up. It would not do it with the over drive off. Had the TC replaced. Some guys have had luck with a fluid change. Good luck.

I also have that shudder with my 95 auto 3. 55 gear and 230hp camplate. I also feel it a little in 3rd. It seems to occur at 1200 rpm no matter the load. I called Sam of Shadetree Mechanic on his radio show this morning and he said he thought it was the TPS but to check on the TDR and someone would give me all the info! I plan to change my TPS because I had no indication of other problems when I serviced the transmission three weeks ago. I saw on another topic that the tps is available on the net and at Cummins at half the dealer price. Good luck with your problem.

mine did the same,,overdrive is controled by a computer and set points can be changed to when you want the overdrive to engage,,mine was set at 45mph from the factory and did the same shudder thing ,,,i had dealer set the overdrive to engage at 52mph and no problems in the last 165,000 miles !!!

Well I've been dealing with a shudder in varying degrees for the last 144,000 miles. What it came down to was the govenor springs. I installed the high RPM springs from Piers at BD and like magic my truck is as smooth as silk. I was even able the reinstall the PCM that gives me lock-up at 45 MPH and have no ill effects. It's like I just got a new truck, only better (read lots cheaper). I would be glad to field any questions about what I went through to arrive at this solution? I must acknowledge credit to Piers Harry (BD) and Ted Jannetty (JRE) for input to the thought process that enabled me to arrive at this solution.
