Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) truck stalls

I was woundering what are some signs of a lift pump going bad or maybe even my VP44 dying? I have noticed latley if I pull out of somewhere in traffic while turning the truck will almost cut off like it isn't picking up enough fuel out of the tank but there will be a full tank of fuel in it. It doesn't do this if I just start off straight. Any ideas or comments are greatly appreciated.
