I have an 95 CTD two wheel drive auto. The truck stalls after it warms up when coming to a stop. I can put vehicle in neutral and it doesn't stall. No DTC codes are set. Transmission been out 3 times with no problems found.
You might have air in your fuel. I just had the same problem and mine was the injector pump. I had 3 delivery valves that went bad. The truck would run fine until it got warm then it would act like it was missing then as soon as you would let off it or come to a stop it would die. But it would start back up ever time . But would only run for a few minutes before it did it again.
What bighammer said. I had my idle down so it would'nt clatter at me so bad when I got out to open the gate. Then or really hot days with AC on it would die at stops. Bumping the idle up slightly fixed it.
du516 how many miles on p7100? I read somewhere these pumps were good for 500k.
The truck only has 54,000 on it now, It had about 50,000 when the problem first started. I just bought the truck in Nov. It did alot of sitting. Then when I bought it I only know 2 speeds hammer down and stop.
The idle is set to cummins spec. When this problem occurs I can hold the brake in drive and throttle at the same time the stall on the converter is 1100 rpm. When the truck is running correctly I can get an stall of 1700 rpm. I have 104,000 miles on the truck. The return fuel has replaced and pump ,delivery valves replaced for other reasons . thanks for replies.
