Had my truck up on jackstands today front and rear. The truck was higher in the front and lower in the rear. We were adjusting the 4 wheel drive linkage and we were starting the truck while it was elevated on the jackstands, starting it on and off a couple different times. we took it off the jackstands rear first, once on the ground the truck cranked a couple off times before starting, since then it has been fine starting just wondering why? The truck is a 93' 5 speed 4 wheel drive, some pump mods. Just wondering what would cause that.

My first guess would be a pinhole in a fuel supply line letting air in the system, hence necessitating a longer crank time.

thats a good thought daniel.

im not 100% sure how the fuel is kept in the lines when the truck is off, with the dodge.

i know big trucks have check valves in the filter housings that keep the fuel system primed. my guess is that if it was up that high in the front with the truck off, some may have drained back out the fuel filter, causeing the multiple cranks to get the fuel pressure up. as long as it cranked up an ran fine, id just forget about it. if it starts doing it often then you may want to start lookin at your fuel deliver a little more.

thanks for the help, i t'm just going to forget about it. this weekend i'll adding a electric fuel pump to my truck along with new fuel lines. so that will help with any prime issues. Thanks for the help.
