has anybody noticed on the highway at any speed if you move the steering wheel back and forth little a couple times you can feel the sway it rear end. is this because there is not longer a sway bar on the rear axle, or do i have a problem.

Steering in the new trucks is much more sensitive to inputs than gen 2 versions. Check your tire pressures to be sure but you will get used to it. It took me a week or so.

i had 80 psi in the rear, then lowered down to 60. it seemed to be a little better. what kinda a pressure is everybody running, loaded and unloaded?

Anywhere between 60 and 80 but with no life shattering change. Only slightly better at 80 and full load, 17K GCVWR, had the TT in tow and dirtbikes in the bead.

Had sway with the factory Michilins and have even more with the aftermarket Michilins, I still think it is a sidewall flex issue. I wish I had gone with another brand but its too late now, these buggers will probably go 70k miles with my luck...

I just towed my Snowmobile trailer with my truck for the first time. . I can feel a definant sway in the sidewals of the 315's... A little wiggle of the wheel and the truck "Squiggles" all over on the tires... ... That was on surface streets I am going to test on the X-way in a couple days, I may change back to 285's

I'm running 60 psi all around and I have no sway with or without the TT. The TT weighs under 4k but it was given to me with a reese wd hitch. I've been using it and really like it. It rides level, too.

I had the same problem and did several things and for my combination found a fix.

I tow have a 10k pound tag with EQ hitch when loaded with my GN.

First I changed the tire pressure to 80 in the rear and 70 up front. This seemed to help a little. Then I lowered the ball hitch 2". and made the trailer 1/2" lower in the front over the rear. This helped much more. And what fixed the problem was to move the car inside 3" forward this fixed the problem. No more sway and pulls as solid as a rock.

When the trailer is empty then the steering is still a little touchy but liveable.

Hope that suggestion helps, just what I found

Sway...

It is interesting that when the issue of sway comes up, either you have it or you don't. I realize that loading is real important, but it seems also that the geometry and suspension on these trucks is very sensitive to change, more-so than it should be. I have noticed that even with no trailer in tow, if the bed is fully loaded to payload capacity, there seems to be a horizontal softness (yaw) to the truck. I had an old 88' Ford F250 that I use to pull the same trailers with, and it was solid as a rock. Change trucks and the thing is all over the road. Trouble was the Ford practically got Gal/mile and the 460 had the poop of a small block.

sway

I thought it might be the crappy oe shocks. It feels like the shocks are worn out. I am going to try some bilsteins when they start making them.

I don't like the feel without a rear sway bar as well. Never fear, in a year or two the trucks will have them. When they come out, I'll be at the parts counter. Maybe some aftermarket folks will beat Dodge to the punch.

IPD makes sway bars for small and large vehicles. Maybe we can pressure them to come up with a solution. http://www.ipdusa.com/
