Just thought I would try and post the pictures of my new Christmas present.

Went with the Weatherguard 684-5 box. I was a little concerned that it was going to be to close to my fifth wheel hitch but now that it's in I really like it :D

im looking for one just like that. love the black. if you have enough space for a 5th wheel i should have enough space for a GN. may i ask about cost? looks good.

I had posted a question about the boxes a few weeks ago, one of the good people here on the TDR suggested I check out the Weatherguard boxes... . glad I did :)

I have a big weatherguard in the truck and a little one on the front of my car hauler. They are very nice and I also have a GN hitch that it clears just fine.

I also have a Weatherguard tool box, model #664. The problem is that my Quad is to long by about 2 inches to fit in the pickup box with it in the box. I had the box in my 96 4x4 Dodge and the same Quad fit just fine, a little snug. I have looked at other Weatherguard tool boxes but can't find one that is 18 inches deep (front to rear) I have looked on the web and stores in our area but can't find one that will work. I like the Quad in the back for winter for weight. I also ride a lot and don't want to have to remove the trailgate so that I can carry it. Appreciate any help. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Weatherguard model #664 is 20" wide at the top and 16 3/4" wide at the bottom. Looks a little bigger than what you are searching for. I think you can probably find a Delta brand over the rail box thats less than 18" wide front to back. Check Kragens Auto Parts if you have one in your area.

Thanks for the info but I should have mentioned that I pull a 5th Trailer at times and need the lower 5th Wheel box. I have looked at delta and others but didn't come up with one that would work. Someone out there should be able to help. Thanks again.

This box may be smaller than what you want, but it was the right compromise for my shortbed, to work with the 5th-wheel and preserve bed floor length. This is a UWS slimline (12" front-to-back) for a Dakota, that I suspended between the rails for 5th-wheel clearance. I've also taken to leaving it installed when I have the topper on.
