TRAVEL CHANNEL PROGRAM FEATURING THE ATPA LUCAS OIL POWER PULLING SERIES TO AIR JANUARY 13

CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (January 8, 2004) - The acclaimed Travel Channel cable television network has released the initial air date for its coverage of a recent American Tractor Pullers Association event in Terre Haute, Indiana, with a scheduled time of Tuesday, January 13 (2004) at 10 p. m. (EST).

The ATPA Lucas Oil Power Pulling Series event at Terre Haute showcased Duramax Diesel Pro Stock and Super Farm Tractor divisions the day of the show's taping, and promises to provide an in-depth and revealing look into the highly competitive series and it's competitors.

Last year, the Travel Channel aired a similar one-hour program on professional truck and tractor pulling, which contained coverage of the Arcola Power Pull in Arcola, Indiana. That show has aired repeatedly, and continues to provide a solid introduction to the sport to a segment of their global television audience, which might otherwise not have been previously exposed to the product.

"We are thrilled to once again be able to have our Lucas Oil Power Pulling Series receive this key exposure on the Travel Channel," began ATPA President Tom McConnell.

Gene, aint you on the Scheid email list?

And Donny Poppie beats the Scheidster again. Funny, Mac didnt seem as upset on tv as when I talked to him after Donny beat him at Darlington WI last year.

(Donny is my brother in laws nephew... by marriage):p

it was on at 7perfect standard time also---I watched it... more gasser than diesel, but still was good----

gassers were Bowling Green and the diesel's were in Terre Haute

thanks to sleddy for gettin this out---chris

Just got done watching the late show.

I'm glad pulling is getting the exposure, BUT.

We need to let the producers know to can the tricky camera work and corn ball music, I want to hear the ENGINES!!!!

This isn't some Chopper show, its pulling, don't need that fancy crap.

I used to hate the jets... but they have me thinking lately... ... ... .

was a good show to watch v/s the other crapola they show on the tube today... if it wern't for Speed and the Outdoor Channel we would not have anything to watch. . 'cept for discovery channels. .

sure wish we could get more exposure on the tube [and no Gene that doesn't mean take your pants off LOL]

I agree with Gene, they really hacked the audio... they used the same audio clip from one diesel puller on just about every hook in the smoker class... talk about annoying.

In their defense... they have to make it appealing to a wide audience... not us diesel freaks... so they used some 'clean' audio from one hook and re-used it... . hoping nobody would notice.

It was still one of the best hours of PG-rated television I have ever seen.

I hated the fact that they teased me with the big-rigs pullers... those are a spectacle to see in person...

I like the jet guys sitting in their trailers having a beer when all the piston guys were workin' hard... that was a bit funny. To each his own...

The jet guys have must have some difficulty finding the engines initially... and then getting parts for them has to be more difficult than a piston engine... Gotta love the insane power, though... .

I never made the connection between Gardner Stone (owner/driver of the jet-powered 'General'... ) and G-Stone Motors over in Vermont. He has a BIG dealership... . was one of the first H1 Hummer dealerships, etc... .

Matt

Anyone notice all the P-Pumps?! Man - what a sight that was... . !

I saw quite a few tractors with custom bent lines that didn't have any retainers... . interesting.

I also liked that one quick shot of a P-Pumped JD... . it had a custom gear case and custom braided oiling lines on the front of it... *drool !*

It seems like the big-time diesel pullers are swapping out bearings almost as often as the top-fuelers... . I guess all that boost/timing takes its toll on the parts... .

Matt

Gardner Stone ---too bad its a FORD dealership!!!!!!!i hear you can bring in your flowersmoke and it dont MATTER whats on it---its covered!!!i cant even get a lp covered up the road at fosters::-{}
