Hey guys, after taking a good look at the new 4th gen megacabs i cant help but thinking about how nice it would be to have a new truck with warranty and all that extra room. Theres no way i would trade my truck in at the stealership so I'd have to sell mine privately. Can anyone give me an idea on about how much i could reasonably ask for mine with all the mods in my signature? FYI, i have never raced or pulled anything bigger than my 10k lbs. camper with it.

How many miles, is it a shortbed? I just bought a 2004. 5, longbed, all stock with 92,000 miles on it. Paid $19,500. Only mod would be a BW goosneck system in the bed. It did come with 2 sets of tires & wheels, 1 set stock w/ BFG's and Hurcules 35's on newer Dodge wheels. The 35's rub on a tight turn. Do yours do that too?

I'd check craigslist in your area to get the market value and adjust your asking price accordingly. Looks like you've got some money in it, especially the transmission.

Engine mods subtract from the value and desirability for many buyers. Personally, I would not even consider one with mods. I don't say that to slam you or your truck, only to provide you with a fairly common view.

No offense taken gents. I also usually buy only stock trucks so i know exactly what im getting. Yes the 35's do rub just a little when fully turned and i hit any bumps. It is the short bed model and to answer Lordsman, yeah i do have quite a bit invested in it. Total cost of mods is a bit over $10k. But one plus side to the expense is i now get an average of 23mpg and have more power than i know what to do with. I have also given some serious thought to converting it to a dually, which is the other reason i was looking at the new trucks. I just dont know much about how to complete that conversion.

I'd agree, I have my 2005 for sale and one of the first questions is, is it 100% completely stock, including exhaust. A reasonable small lift and slightly bigger tires does not seem to hurt at all but any motor mods, quickly turns people off.

Mild mods such as you have should be desireable to the right buyer... you just have to find him/her! I've not kept up with resale prices, but I'd guess mid 20s would be a fair price depending on miles.

It all depends if you can find the buyer who's looking for what you're selling. I sold my 2002 HO/6-speed with 4. 10 gears last September for $17,500 to an individual who was looking for a truck to tow a heavy 5th wheel - exactly what the 2002 was set up to do. As far as mods go, it had an Edge EZ, DD2 injectors, BHAF, Jardine 4" exhaust, SBC Con OFE, gauges, etc. - a mild towing rig that dynoed at 347/762. That's high money for a 2002, but the truck only had 47,000 miles on it.

I sold my bombed 93 within 2 days. I could have sold several of them because people liked the bombs and wanted a clean truck. I don't think miner bombing really hurts ones ability to sell very much - people are more concerned with overall condition.

It is definately in good shape. i do have a couple small dents but thats about it. Actually all the mods have been done within the last few months. I only drive it about once every 3 weeks to work and on monday nights to training at the fire department. I think ill have to keep it though because i still owe 20k on it. I just bought it last year from an elderly man. Just wish i had held out for a 3500 like i had originally wanted.
