Hey Guys,

My truck was vandalized on Saturday night... some jackass decided to rip the mirror off my drivers side door so the door skin is completely bent and warped beyond repair.

Just wondering if you know of a place to a get cheap door shell and possibly some front fenders too. If you know of a place in Canada, that would be ideal but I'm not afraid to get stuff out of the US, provided shipping is reasonable. The cheaper the better...

Truck is a grey '93 standard cab W250, if that makes any difference...

Cheers,

Anyone know if the LE stuff (power windows, locks, etc. ) will bolt into a door from a non LE truck? I have a line on a cab from a non-LE '89 pickup. That should fit a '93, eh?

Door will fit. Just make sure the color is right as well as the fact that the 89 had different trim studded to the exterior.

You getting the whole cab?

yeah, but with the power window motor and locks and all that stuff bolt up?

as in, the trim is in a different location?

The guy doesn't want to part it out so I would have to buy the whole cab... would be a good way to go provided I can get rid of the cab... or make use of it. The cab is red so the door will need to be repainted.

I have not tried to putting power parts onto a non power shell so I reserved comment on that part of the question but knowing Chrysler, it will be the same. Can't see why it would be different.

As for trim, not only slightly different location but different trim. The 80s trim is NOT the same as the 1991-1993 trim! The later trim that you have is 3M adhesive mounted rubbery plastic moldings. The older ones are stainless and plastic held on with reaining clips and if removed the moulding you will find 14 studs in the body that would need to be pressed out and then the holes welded shut, ground down, then painted.

Even the doors with power windows and locks are different from 89 to 91 or so. The earlier trucks have a small grommit where the wires pass through, and the later ones have a large hole. I used a 1989 door when I put my 91 back together (both power). I had to use a holesaw to make a hole for the big grommit to pass through. The studs for the body trim are welded in place.

Update- over the weekend I bought a 1987 W150 parts truck. It was a fully dressed out LE model. It had the larger holes for the wiring harness and all the vent slots identical to my 91. So, either the Ramcharger I got the door from was earlier than an 89, or someone did some swapping on it. The larger grommets came on at least by 1987.

Thanks for the update! Good info right there!

The way I remember, the doors changed from 80 into 81. There might have been a second change in 85 into 86 but have not been able to confirm this.
