Truck was assulted, stole the DPF & NAC

My son's 08 2500 was attacked while he was at work.

Robbers cut the exhaust appart stealing the Diesel Particulate Filter and the NOx absorber Catalyst, leaving wires and tubes hanging down.

The security cameras shows two vehicles that took 7 minutes to perform the act.

Found a DPF on e-bay for $1500. We concluded it would probably cost about $2500 to $3000 to repair. :{

The insurance will cover it with $1000 deductable.

Delete kits and smarty jr cost $617

Well, today the delete kit and smarty should arrive.

We were just forced to make this decision for expense reasons.



Checked with 3 Tx state inspection station and all said there is no exhaust/emmision check on diesel pick up trucks.



I wonder what is inside the DPF, Gold, Silver something worth alot of money I guess. The dealership wanted $2500 for one.

Sorry for your sons loss but his truck will run better for it. I believe that the DPF filter has Platinum along with other precious metals in it.



I have been deleted since Aug. 09. I have seen less fuel dilution and soot in the oil since I deleted. My oil changes have gone from 3,500 to 7,500 miles between changes. I have gain about 2 MPG in all conditions regardless if I am towing my 5er or driving on the highway. The EGR cooler is still on the engine but I am using EGR blocker plates along with the Smarty S67.
