My Father (Jack in Alaska) is traveling down South (in Pasco, WA going toward Idaho tomorrow) and is having an intermitant problem with his 98. 5. Three times in the last couple of days it has failed to start when hot. He says that all he has to do is turn the key off and try to start it again and it fires right up. He is worried about being able to finish his trip without going to a delaler for a bunch of expensive work.
Any one have any ideas?? I thought of air in the system from the over flow valve or return line, but those should happen over night. About all I can figure is its his ECM or his VP44. Since the truck is a 98. 5 it will not do codes in the odo window and the MIL is not on. I told him to watch his fuel pressure the next time it happens to see if has any.
Thanks in advance for any ideas...
His final destenation is Casa Grande Arizona, any one know a good Diesel shop around there??
