truck with blown out piston whats it worth.

My cousin has a 92 4x4 with 185,000 miles on it with what I believe is a blown out piston.



the truck is rusty, but has a ton of new parts on it. new injection pump lines and injectors to start. the front axle and all the brakes were redone. It also has a tryed and true veggie kit on it that has alot of miles under its belt. this might also have something to do with why it doesnt run anymore.



He wants $2000. Im thinking of picking it up just for parts, but would like to know what you all thought first.

Used parts

First I would try running straight diesel thru it with a good injector cleaner mixed in at about double dose, if it runs on that after clearing out old fuel you know what you are looking for. Not a bad price for truck parts but a motor used will cost 3k from a junkyard. Everything is relative and all my in-laws are out-laws.

Heck, 3 grand for the engine, I'll part out my green goober.



Probably a wise decision- I try to keep friends/ family separate from business dealings.
