My buddy has a 2015 3500 with the 68re transmission. He parked the truck last night got in this morning and the truck wouldn't move. He put the truck in reverse and you can hear the transmission shift but the truck won't move. Put the truck in drive and the same thing, transmission shifts but the truck doesn't move. He has tried putting it in drive and giving the truck throttle and still nothing. It acts like the truck is in neutral. There are no lights on the dash lit up. He is in Estes Park CO at a campground and can't move.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions. We tried all of those earlier today and nothing seemed to help. You can rev the engine up with it in gear and the engine revs and the truck just sits there. As soon as you put the truck in reverse or drive the truck will move about 2 inches and then nothing.

We tried unhooking the batteries for an hour to see if that would reset anything and again no change.

It does act like the t-case is in neutral but we took it in and out of neutral, locked in 4 high, 4 low, back to 2 wheel and nothing. There is no grinding, whining, howling, or anything. Engine revs and revs and no go.

From 96 service manual (47re) no drive/reverse: fluid level low. gear shift cable loose/misadjusted. u-joint/axle/transfer case broken. filter plugged.

The tow truck picked the truck up yesterday. Still waiting to hear what the problem is.

RAM is treating my buddy right. The 5 year / 100,000 mile factory warranty is covering the tow bill and a loaner truck.

I'll let you guys know the outcome.

Again thanks for the help and suggestions.

The truck went to the dealer and they started throwing parts at it. The truck still would not move. The dealer got authorization to put a whole new transmission in it. So it seems that no one knows why the truck won't move. Hopefully a new transmission will fix the issue.
