Oo.

Changed fuel filter - Have changed it this way every time and engine would start every time untill NOW! Used this proceedure: Removed filter bowl, removed old element, emptied and cleaned bowl, Partially filled bowl, Placed element into bowl, Filled to brim! Re-attached bowl.

Attempted to start, Engine will crank but not start! I repeated the above steps; This time, filled bleeder holes also! Still no start.

Any suggestions???????????????????????

crack an injector line or two up at the valve cover. sounds like air in the system or a dead lift pump.

I am guessing its an 98. 5-02

Here's the truck info from his profile:

1998. 5 - HD 2500 - Short Bed Quad-cab

No word on auto or stick. Also, unknown where he's currently located.

Thanks for reply - auto trans, lift pump runs as it normally does, 10 seconds or so and quits. At this point, usually, I turn the key and it starts!

Any codes? I would crack line from lift pump to top of filter to make sure it is pumping fuel, i have heard several make noise and not pump fuel, also check that fuel is geting to the injector pump and then out the lines, if lift pump is bad i have pressurized the fuel tank to push fuel though the system it can help get you started but you will need a new lift pump soon, if you have fuel to the injector pump and not out the lines it could be the vp 44

Cracked injector nut at cylinders 1 and 3 - Got smoke and and soon firing on all 6

Thanks for reply - have a good one
