I have a 2002 Dodge 3500 CTD, 54K miles. Changed fuel filter today, using the same procedure I always have. Started engine, ran for about 5 seconds and died. Pulled fuel filter and checked, it was OK. Reinstalled, opened filter housing drain, turned ignition on, got a very small dribble. I was expecting the lift pump to pump out fuel at a high flow rate. Any ideas?

Never mind, I got it running. I read the post started by Benglish and started the lift pump, then opened fuel filter drain, got frothy mixture first, then clear stream. Then cranked engine for a few seconds and it started. I guess I air bound the fuel lines, never happened before. Now I am curious why it happened this time. Starts and runs normally now.
