Well, finally got my truck into a dealer down here in AZ, to get the remote start fixed. (It never worked when I got it installed in WA)

So, I drop the truck off at noon at Avondale Dodge, and had a buddy pick me up. I get a call @ 4:30 from service saying my truck will start, and shut off right away. They can't figure out why, and DC is closed 'til the morning. So I said what are you gonna give to drive, and they tell me Enterprise is down the road and that I need to go rent something. But I can't because I'm only 20. Well, I decided that was enough Bull$hit and had my buddy take me to the Dealer to get this resolved in person. So I get there @ 5 pm and talk to the Service Manager. He says Mopar acessories are NOT covered under warranty, and they'll arrange a ride home for me, BUT that's it.

After arguing for about an hour :-{} , the little weasel I talked to on the phone comes around the front driving my truck. He said they put a new module in it, but the remote start still does NOT work. I asked if they put a new antenna on too, (because my dealer in WA, said that was a defected part as well). He said NO, but bring the truck back in the AM and we'll see what's wrong w/it. I said F U, threw the paper floor mat and plastic seat cover on the ground, and burned 'em off and fogged the place out when I left :D !!!

Oh, ya and when I started the truck this morning to go to school it shut OFF!!! Luckily, I started it again and it was alright.

Think I'll just wait 'til this winter when I go home to get it fixed, or just tell the dealer in WA to rip the SOB off and give me a refund.

Whatcha think

Ummmm, curious why you took it to Avondale when your signature says you are in Tempe. Tempe Dodge is good and miles closer (2 hours of driving round trip). Also, Bill Luke Dodge at I-17 and Camelback has a terrific service department. Been good to me. Used them both.

Went to Avondale because my buddy lives close to their and could give me a ride, plus we lift at the same gym, so we just worked-out while the truck was at the dealer. It only takes me 25 min. to get their from where I live.

Do you have Sentry Key? If so, that could be causing the problem. The remote should have come with a Sentry override module that kicks in when the remote start is used. And, of course, if a Sentry Key vehicle is started without a Sentry key or equivalent, it will start then shut down. Also possible is the underhood switch that shuts it down if it thinks the hood is up. If that switch(mercury switch) isn't aligned properly, that could be an issue. If I was closer, I'd stop over and look at it. It's also possible they tapped into the wrong wire on the ECM, and it isn't getting a tach signal. Also, part of the install calls for programming the unit to read the tach signal, among other things. It isn't too complicated, but if it isn't done, it will not work.

I'll try and dig up my paperwork on the remote start and send it to you.

Blake,

I live not to far from ASU Main campus and could make a copy of the installation instructions if you want. I will be going out of town early next week but plan to have my remote start installed at Tempe Dodge when I get back along with the TSB 18-003-04 for using cruise control to stepup idle.

Check with David (Chapman Dodge Service Writer) on McDowell... they seem to be the best service dept. in the Valley

I think if you said F U to me... I'd ask you to leave and not return no matter if you were right or wrong... . no one in business has to put up with that... . the second reason I'd ask you not to return if you'd burned them off in my driveway.....

No one in business make enough money to take that kind attitude... .

You might have been treated poorly... . but you can't expect respect from anyone with that kind of attitude... Sorry if I hurt some feelings... but its just not worth the bother... there are too many good customers out there.....

Could'nt agree more, no one ever got anything acomplished with an ego trip. Speek softly and carry a big stick has always been my approach. Especially since they were not the original dealer of the install. Put your self in the service persons shoes. I know I would'nt put up with that.
