Crazy Towing Combos

Finding this interesting, especially being into fleet maintenance, and recognizing how essential it is to keep a fleet running safely.

EXACTLY...it seems to be a hidden story about this company and speaks directly to some members work experiences here. I mean I see there trucks around and had NO idea this was the kind of company culture they were running!!!

Yeah, hit home. This is why we have all those PIA DOT hours of service and other regulations: because some company will otherwise abuse it to the point of deadly unsafe. Both drivers and trucks... This outfit gives Truck Drivers and the industry a bad reputation that most don't deserve.

The article was a little too focused on one company. They all need a little enforcement. One of their competitors had a driver swerving coming down Highway 87 a few years back and attempted to run a red light. (High on dope, drunk, not paying attention, whatever, pick one or all.) Problem was the others stopped at that damn dangerous to begin with light: it turned a Trailblazer into a "cream filling" between the armored truck and a pickup towing another pickup on a trailer. No one in the Trailblazer lived. From a stop the Trailblazer hit the pickup trailer so hard ALL the airbags went off in it. The pickup driver was screwed up bad and don't recall if they just lingered a little and died anyway. The main concern at the scene appeared to be securing and transferring the money aka cargo. o_O

They haul dead bodies away from that damn light all the time regardless. Yeah, you make the time to look to make sure people have stopped before you roll out on a green there.

End of the day it is still the driver that is ultimately responsible for accepting and operating an unsafe vehicle. "Putting food on the table for the family" is an excuse for unsafe conditions that also comes home when, anyone, let alone a kid dies in front of a school bus. Sadly companies like these put better companies who maintain their vehicles out of business.

I thought someone posted a Garda picture from TX recently on here, truck was off the road like 100' or more, way off the road. Can't seem to find it, not sure if it was their picture or they were just sharing it.

Or it was somewhere else, more local to me in the local news.

Either way, not good stuff at all in that article.

GARDA -- Watch out for these guys while you are driving??

LONG article detailing Garda's growth into a major player in the US Money Transfer and Security biz with REAL consequences and MANY photos --

Bimbo bread took over Oroweat bread in San Diego. The Oroweat company paid their employees a great wage and they seemed to enjoy their job and weren't rushed. When Bimbo came on the guys had to rush, rush in order to survive. It was an overnight change. I saw Garda in Baja when I'd go in the past. I don't remember issues with the Brink's operation here at all. Cut rate operations don't work.
