what was the name on the truck movie where the truck had absurdly tall stacks to draw the heat seeking missiles to the stack and not the truck, i think they called the truck thunder, they did a jump with it too complete with trailer. been many years since i saw it and remember it a great B movie, i think the bad guy is running a big 2 stroke cabover chasing them in the end

FOUND IT

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090169/

This maybe a little off center but the truck plays a decent part in the "The grapes of wrath", The family involved sells thier possessions to buy it, it allows them to pursue an unwanted future, it breaks down, drinks up thier money, people fall off of it and die in it, it evens pulls a wheelie. It delivers them into deepest despair. It will make any tdr member feel better about thier own truck no matter how raggedy, and the rest of the story is at least as good as any already mentioned.

White Line Fever

Another good movie to add to your list is "White Line Fever", starring Jan Michael Vincent as an independant trucker operating a sweet looking blue Ford cabover, early 70's model, nicknamed the "Blue Mule".

Sorcerer

Another great movie with trucks is the "Sorcerer" starring Roy Scheider. Movie is about four individuals who escaped to South America to avoid issues at home i. e. , the mob or the law. They find themselves in a real sucky area and will do anything to earn enough money to get away. They get jobs transporting unstable dynamite in a pair of old Army 2 1/2 ton trucks. A great movie from 1977.

Ya, Over The Top was a good one. I have Black Dog, but you can tell it was a low budget film. :( Overall, it was OK. Could've been better.

#1 Convoy

#2 Max Overdrive (best collection of trucks)

#3 Blackdog

I think number 4 would be Midnight Run? Not sure if the name is correct? About Grandpa and granson running a cobalt mine in Laughlin Nevanda. Well Grandpa gets offer to haul plutonium for the gov. He builds up a nice KW like a tank. At the end ol cabover with a Detroit two stroke v12 chases him down. Cool!
