It appears I will need to dismantle the heater/air conditioner ductwork to remove the remains of a mouse and /or mouse nest from the same. The mess appears to be caught in the door that changes the air flow from cold to warm. It stinks so bad it wilts the flowers at my neighbor's house, and its a half mile away, and upwind. Cool weather is coming, and I will need the heater. None of my manuals (Haynes, etc. ) have a blow-up of the ductwork, and how to open it up.

Help! Anyone out there have a schematic that would save me time in removing the stinking little rodent?

When I get it out I plan to cover the lower heater ducts with metal wire mesh to keep visitors OUT!

Sure it's really a mouse, it's hard for them to get in. My truck did the same, the problem was caused by bacteria and fungi from turning the truck off with the A/C recently run leaving everything damp, smelled just like something dead. I thought for sure it was a dead mouse also. To remove the funky odor from the A/C, get a can of Lysol. With the truck running, turn on the HVAC control to high, outside air. Open the hood and spray the Lysol into the vent that brings in the outside air. It is located in the cowl area; you will know if you are getting it in the vent if you smell Lysol in the cab. Takes care of it fast. To prevent it from happening again turn off the A/C five minutes before you shut down for the night and run the vent instead.
