I don't what to tell the service guy tomorrow... ... ..... my truck is in for the following and they called today and said they can't find anything wrong.

1. Marginal cold A/C - warm on passenger side. ( Dealers says system is fully charged)

2. Drive line shudder on take off when trailer is attached. ( Dealer says none detected) yeh, no trailer.

3. Intermittent rough idle. (Dealer says no codes found, did pressure check)what?

4. Hard or inconsistent 1-2 shift, bang into 4th/OD under normal acceleration (Dealer said pressures normal)

What should I tell these guys if this is their last word. It's not my imagination. Wife complains about the a/c, the truck shudders at take off from a stop, and the transmission shifts hard most of the time. Thanks guys.

Low ac charge. Even a little and rumour is a new ac line with a improved orfice is coming down the pike for poor ac perfrormance at idle/low speeds. TSB for launch shudder trailer has the be ATTACHED to check driveline angle and order correct shims. ask dealer to do ANY of the latest and greatest reflash's(software updates) and you be the judge on shift quality and rough idle.

Mine had same A/C problem, passenger side only was a little warmer. It was low on the charge. Tell them to fill it anyway. Many are coming from the factory that way for some reason.

The ac compressors are known to leak around the clutch area and the evaps are not of the best quality, i told the dealer to do what ever they have to do to make it right since it's under warranty, and they did.

Just an update on what happened with the truck. Drive line shudder was not addressed as they stated they could not duplicate, and since it only does it when the trailer's attached I guess I'll live with it. The engine idled perfect when they had and when I picked it up-no codes. The transmission shifts with in specs, but it's nothing close to the 4L80E in the Yukon XL. But for you guys with A/C trouble or warm passenger side air, the charge did end up being low, so they charged and now it's fine. Must of came from the factory that way because it's alway been marginal. I hope this doesn't sound negative because these are petty issues (not the A/C) and the truck has been great and I'm very pleased with the performance. Thanks for your replys guys. :D

We chased the drive line issue until we installed air bags on all our trucks... .

We found with 3 trucks... . 04, 04. 5, and 05, all 3500's that with a lot of weight in the bed... goose neck hitches... ... we get this shudder. . with the air bags... we put the bed level again and the problem went away... .

Right, clearly it's the pinion or driveshaft angle when loaded. The part that's so sad is that this is my 6th pick up which include a 63' F-100, a 79' F-250 Supercab, a 84' S-10, two Chevy Dually's, and this is the only truck that ever had any problem like this. Forty-two years of engineering opportunities between the first truck and the last, and the DCX guys come up with this. Amazing. :--)

There IS a TSB on the shudder. Its a simple one. With loaded trailer they take a measurement that trakes all of a few minutes and order the correct shims for it. Little dealer near me has down a few. Customer rolls into parking lot with trailer, tech rolls under truck, takes a measurment as prescribed in the TSB and knows then how far out of spec or what area of spec its in and orders the shims needed. They never have tried to duplicate it. Just told customer to roll in with his normal load etc.

I have your #2 problem, driveline vibration when the trailer is attached (a 10,000 lb 5er). Took it to the dealer here in Little Rock and they have ordered a new driveshaft and carrier bearing. Will replace when it comes in, under warranty. Don't let the dealer put you off. My truck is a '06 2500 megacab SRW diesel/auto trans. Cheers
