"Trucks!"

I was just watching "Trucks!" and they were, well HE was, putting a Bullydog propane setup on an '05 Chebby Durahacks. It was pretty neat to see how it was done, cause I've never seen how it was done. In the end, I think the HP went up to 455 on the dyno. Now it's a tv show, so I don't know how accurate it was, except the camera was on the computer screen the whole time showing the curves. But my favorite part came when he starting talking about diesels in general. They cut to a garage where the guy was kneeling next to a piston out of a sub diesel that was about the size of those orange water coolers/dispenser that you put on the back of your work truck during the summer Huge. Then they went to a cutaway of a Cummins 4bt to describe how everything worked, sitting next to it was a good old Dodge CTD, 2nd gen. Boring I know, but it's just nice to finally see something on an automotive show that specifically talked about diesels for a full hour, or half hour, however lond it was. There needs to be more diesel talk on automotive shows. I think that producers have become jaded into thinking that gasoline is the only fuel source, then someone steps on their toe and they're like "Oh yeah! I totally forgot there were diesel engines! We should do at least ONE show on those things!" Sorry, got to rambling!!!

Two Guys Garage had an episode where they put the propane on our beloved CTD. I think it is called Horsepower TV now. Their car-toater is the one they put it on. Very nice ride. Also I think they did the Power Pup and 4" or 5" exhaust. Would love to have seen all of the process, but they only get 30 minutes to cover the 3 projects. Can not remember the exact numbers from the dyno, but it was quite an improvement.

I saw the episode where two guys were putting the power pup, I think, on all three diesels. Torque curve went off the chart they made for the CTD



Horse power TV is where they added some injectors, propane, intake, and a few other things to a CTD. pretty awsome stuff

Horsepower TV sounds alot better than Trucks!. I've never seens horsepower tv... 'im up early enough, but I'm never home, either at school or work. . speaking of which I have to drive the danged bus to campus today... . i wan't my truck!!

I saw that too. It wasn't an 05 chevy, it was the older body style so i'm guessing an 02. The funny thing was, when they dynoed it to get the baseline, it only had 196 (I think) HP!! Something must have been terribly wrong. It seems like every time I watch these shows anymore, they're always talking about diesels. . Oo. I love it, but I bet gasser guys are not happy. I guess its more interesting then watching them build up some old Bronco for 6 months.

Oops, my mistake! ... Didn't he say it was only making about 400 something ft-lb of torque???? Yikes!!

Hopefully as diesels become more and more popular, and more people begin to start working on them like the regular gassers, then maybe.

I hope not. I kind of like being on the fringe. What fun will it be when every soccer mom and her brother is driving around in a bombed 400 hp diesel? It already seems that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a 5" polished tip an a diesel truck. Not that there's anything wrong with it, as I have one myself. Maybe I just notice it more now that I have one

Stacey did a Dodge the other day, Edge package, Air package, and five inch exhaust. Afterwards went out and smoked em.

I really liked that Edge system he put on the Dodge. It would be nice to have GPS, gauges, and adjustable power in one package. The remote camera was cool also. I have a feeling that it's out of my price range though :{ .
