true 4x4 offroad insurance?? real or BS?

A guy I met recently claims to have 4x4 insurance on his pickup.

He claims it pays for situations where you clearly are not on the road and get yourself into trouble. Like getting retrieved on a beach, Having your axle ripped off by a boulder, Recovering from damages rolling your truck down a mountain, etc.

Too me it sounds a bit fishy. Anyone know of such an animal? I wish it were true but doubt it.

What's next Bombing insurance for when DC discovers we've exceeded the rated torque the transmission is designed to transmit by a factor of 2 and then want them to fix it for free when it breaks? Somebody's pullin your leg or ain't too smart about insurance companys.

Thats about as smart as someone towing a car on a trailer that thinks the car is covered by the truck insurance,NOT! The trailer is covered,the car is not,unless you have tow truck operators insurance.

hey guys, maybe i'm stupid about insurance but i asked my agent specifically about offroad use and he told me i was insured for anytime, anyplace , and anything. maybe he was blowing smoke but thats what he said. it's state farm ins. co.
