I'm looking at a Trufilter oil filter, I have never heard of it and 4 Wheel Parts sells it. It says it has a Lifetime Warranty, 90% more efficient then Paper filters. And it's made out of Stainless Steel.

So has anyone used it or know anything about it?

PM triton on this board, I believe he was going to run one of them...

There is a thread in one of the sections about them... might search on it...

My only question would be why? The stock oil filters will keep the engine in fine shape for more miles than most of us will keep the truck.

I don't believe the TruFilter is disposable

I had a similar type of filter on me old dodge big block Gasser truck. It consisted of a SS mesh screen between two cast alum plates with fittings in them. You un-bolted the two plates, removed the screen, cleaned it, then re-installed the screen and bolted the plates together. I used it for about 60K, and did not have any problems with it or the engine. I worked the truck hard, often grossing 18K going between Arkansas and California. The last such trip I made with it I had 135K on the truck and even though it wasn't the fastest rig on the toad, it never faltered and I managed to get about 7 mpg. Empty, I regularly got 14 to 15 mpg. These are hand calculated figures, since this was way before computers
