hey, if anyone has an extra factory manual laying around, just collecting dust, i know a new (and financially challenged) cummins owner who could probably put it to real good use. i'm mildly terrified of doing anything to that beautiful motor without a manual to study/consult. this is probably a result of my grandfather drilling into my brain the first rule of auto mechanics: RTFM. Read The F-- um... Factory Manual. from dodge, these books run about $100, correct? i'll certainly pay for a used one, if anybody out there knows where to find one used. but $100 could be put to better use in funding some gagues, or air horns, or something...

go to this site for the BEST manual I have gotten. it is over 1500 pages that covers every singlr bolt washer and wire loom and even tells you where the pinch welds for the body is!

I broke up the manual into sections and put all the pages into slip sheets and 3 ring binders. about 7 books now.

was about $100

Covers the Diesel engine and everything!

hopr this helps

You can sometimes get a deal on a Dodge manual in the classifieds here or on e-bay. Even if you have to pay the price for a new one it will pay for itself with the first simple repair you perform.

Shop manual

Jaw Breaker, I have to agree with illflem. I've owned my 98 for only a few months and one of the first things I bought was the shop manual. Just try and remove the cigarette lighter unit from the dash with the manual's little hit. Those books will pay for themselves in no time. I also have a set for a 77 Ford that I used to own. Try finding one of those now. In other words if you work on your own vehicle it's money well spent. It may not help a lot but if you need to know something email me at watsonjr@barstow. usmc. mil and I'll check my 98 manuals

oh, don't get me wrong--it's not a question of IF i'm going to get a manual, it's just HOW and HOW MUCH. i, too have had a factory manual for every vehicle i've ever owned, from my old '85 6. 2 gmc suburban, to volkswagens, to my sisters '75 plymouth valiant. . i just. . er. . want to take full advantage of the wide array of resources to be found on this... aw, heck. i'm cheap. i'll definitely check the classifieds, though.
