Need a rear hub bearing carrier for 93 W-250

I have a couple of W350 SRW trucks that I fix and drive and drive and fix and I would like to make a dually out of one of them. I have a friend who wants to sell me his 2wd dually and I know I can get the rear end to fit but how about the tracking on the front end. The fear ratios are the same I think. Will the adapters that widen the 2wd work on the 4wd hubs? I have never seen the hubs side by side. What else will I be looking at for fit problems. Thanks.

Have you considered just buying one? May be cheaper in the long run and much better. It'll save yourself a monster headache also.

The two wheel drive dually adapters I don't think will work with the 4 wheel drive, as they are cast inward toward the bearing dust cap for support, and some, I believe, are one piece hubs. The standard 4wheel drive hub is one piece on 4500lb axles, and almost impossible to find new, and there are three different casting numbers that I've seen. I've bought some used ones to tide me over a few years. If you use the single wheel hub, you can get adapters to make them work with the dually tracking. Arrowcraft makes the best I've seen, with center piloting, and perfect machine work. They are the reccomended adapters from Dynatrac for use with their free spin hub kits on the Gen II and III duallies. I'd reccomend that over tyring to find a hub and put on your axle, 'cause I've done it twice now, and would like to a third time, but parts are becoming increasingly hard to find. There are also different brake rotors used. Some hubs off of around an '85 chevy will work, but have different stud sizes, 9/16, versus 5/8on the Dodge. A Dana 60 is a Dana 60, but finding the combination of bearing size, brake rotor, and stud size is difficult. Dana might be willing to help you, too.

Why not just leave the regular wheels on the front and hide them with the dually chrome simulators?

The only bad thing about this I can think of is if you get a flat you may need to figure out which wheel to swap. ;)

Pete, what is a chrome simulator, I am not familiar with much chrome. I am though interested in those. My trucks are generally used on the farm but they may fit the bill. Thanks.
