Other than replacing power steering pumps and hoses I've never had a steering problem. But now I have a steering noise that is new to me. When my truck is cold I hear sort of a moan/vibration. It only happens when the engine is cold and I am turning right, and seems more pronounced when the turn is over uneven surfaces. The power steering pump and reservoir was replaced last year with the new part numbers. After everything warms up the noise either goes away or is greatly diminished. Because I have also occasionally heard this noise when moving over uneven surfaces in a straight line (while the engine is cold) I keep thinking sway bar, but since this is new to me I have no frame of reference to confirm it. Any possible sources for this problem would be appreciated.

Maybe the PS fluid has dirt or some organic substance in it.. I'd try a reflush and new PS fluid.

Thanks. I'm thinking that because the sound/vibration can also occur when going over road moguls it's probably more than that, but a good flush never hurts. I had some fairly intense moments dealing with the Dodge mechanics over how they handled the repair, so in my head it's not a stretch to believe they engaged in some shenanigans.
