I like the look of this TSB 18-004-04. It's the one where I can use my cruise control to keep idle rpm's at 1500. Especially with winter coming. Here in CA, the temps might reach into the 50's. LOL. It says that the procedure involves erasing and reprogramming the ECM with new software. Here's my questions.

1. Should I unplug my TST when this is done. Or does it not matter?

2. If they're erasing and reprogamming the ECM, then why can't the reprogram it with the HO software (I have an SO) which is good for more hp and torque. I know there's some differences in the motors, but at this point my motors not even close to an SO, let alone an HO.

I want some serious thoughts. I'd like to be able to walk into the dealer and tell him what to do, not the other way around.

It can remain connected - won't interfere with the ECM at all.

Emissions, among other reasons. The 305HP HO engine was never certified in CA, so it would be illegal for them to install an HO program in your ECM.

if you want to void your warranty you can leave it on. Take it off and make them find out you had a box don't just tell them even remove the velcro markings on the fuse box.

I'm not worried about the warranty. There's a warranty restriction on the motor of my truck because of the Banks system that was on it when it blew up. So that's another reason I had the motor built right and didn't have the dealer put it back to stock. Thanks for the replies.
