TSB 18-024-00

This TSB covers:

This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 24-valve diesel engine and automatic transmission built between engine serial numbers 56666444 to 56798357, with a date of manufacture of December 15, 1999 to November 15, 2000.

Had Mine Done

Hi Jay:

Had mine done about a year ago at the dealer after complaining that my truck couldn't pull my little old boat up a hill. Before the TSB was performed I couldn't pull my 3,500 lb. boat up a 1% grade without shifting out of overdrive. After the re-flash it stays in O. D. MOST of the time (up to about a 4% grade I would guess). So to make a long story short

Yes it DID add some (a little-not alot) power back in O. D. and

Yes it was performed by my dealer at no cost and

Yes I would recommend it.

Do a search on the TSB and you should find lots of info from other members. Oh before I forget my truck was manufactured in late Nov 2000.

So do you think if I went to the dealer and asked for this TSB without complaining about loss of power, they'd do it anyway? I'm just wondering how much acting I would need to do to get it. :D

I would go in armed to the teeth.

Have a copy of the TSB ready and complain about how it runs in OD.

That way there is no question what you want them to do.

Is your truck still under the 36000 mile warranty? If it is they should give you no problem.

I had mine done with 9000 miles on the odometer. This TSB works like a charm.
