The old TSB the wrap is dealer provided and it is nothing more than a standard header wrap material. It is wrapped around the exhaust by the #1 oxygen sensor. I believe that it is two inches in front and behind the sensor too keep the sensor hotter. You've asked this same question a couple different ways but the "wrap" is nothing more than that. Dealers have to buy their own wrap so the wrap could be different brands between dealers but it is still a 1-2 inch high temp header wrap that is purchased locally at a NAPA, CarQuest, etc. . There is more to the TSB than just the wrap but if you want to wrap your pipe around that sensor just buy the wrap locally and do it yourself.

The new TSB 25-001-09 is a blanket like Bob4x4 posted in your previous post. I haven't seen Dodge's new blanket system but I imagine it will wrap fully around the pipe by the sensor and tie together with stainless springs or wire. Probably has a siliconized exterior and fiberglass inside with a wiremesh support.

pcarlson & sag2, thanks for the help!

Still trying to find out if it's needed or worth doing.

This simple stuff makes me want to take the IDI for a drive#@$%!.

John, if your dealer will perform the TSB let them its not going to bother anything but might prevent something down the road. Sag2 will know more but some TSB's are symptom driven so if this TSB is symptom driven and you do not have any some dealers will not perform the TSB. Dealers lost some of their fudge room now that trucks have to be hooked up to Chrysler's network and they can see whats being done and what codes the truck has.

Sage, can this factory wrap be purchased and do you think we should all do it just to minimize having future problems? Thanks always for your great insights

1nebel0, Yes the wrap can be purchased from your local Dodge Dealer. Purpose of it is to keep the upstream o2 sensor warmer. If you currently have the header exhaust wrap and the wrap is in good condition there is no need to replace it.

Header Wrap

I have a new turbo but they did not replace 02 or do the wrap. . I will ask the dealer how much. . looks easy to do. . I can tell you that the fuel filter was a b_ _ _ H... . could not get it from below and had to take the wheel off and the inner fender panel and then used a filter wrench... HB... your a better man than I am going from below... no room to move a ratchet and I have every size extension etc. . the oem filter doesn't lock in the 1/2 ext like the new filter does. . sorry to get off the subject... .

That tsb only applies if you have the code. The new blanket is something like $85 I have never even looked at the price on the o2 sensors. The blanket comes with s/s tie wraps.
