I know this topic has been beat into the ground recently but I thought I would give my very first impressions on the reflash. Some of you may remember an earlier post about the poor mileage my 05 was getting. I know I’m not the only one but mine was horrendous. I stopped by the dealership yesterday and talked to the service advisor about getting the reflash done on my truck. He was very helpful and made an appointment for first thing this morning.

I sat at the dealership for a couple of hours and finally got my truck back reflashed. I then went straight to the gas station and fueled up(with diesel... i know someone would ask :-laf ). It is about a 30-mile drive home all freeway. I have fueled up at this station many times and it would normally show 15-15. 4mpg on the overhead display. After the reflash it was showing 16. 9mpg. Something has changed. This mileage would of course decrease once I started the stop and go city driving.

I know… I don’t have any miles on it since the reflash but I will post more once I fill up again. I did think it was pretty cool that I jumped almost 2 mpg right off the bat on the overhead display. My display has almost always been perfect so I can only hope that it is accurate now.

I also noticed there seems to be a little more power right off the line and it seems to be running smoother. This may all be in my head though.

I will post more later.

*Edit*. Mine was one of the last S. N. available for this flash

I just made an appointment to have mine done on Friday. I have a January-built "600". It runs smooth as silk, but if my mileage can be improved, then what the heck.

I just told the service manager I had white smoke and poor mileage, and he said bring it in.

I also had mine done this morning. Overhead jumped from 14. 2 upto 17. 4 an increase of 3. 2 mpg :-laf . I know that the full truth will be revealed when I hand calculate, but so far the overhead has been right on. Also noticed that the "pinging" is gone, seems to spool up quicker. Wife also says she hears the turbo more, it would have to be in the headrest for me to hear it :( , so I'll take her at her word. Dealer was more than glad to perform the work as I handed him a copy of the tsb, He acted as if he had not seen it  .

okay... . here is a quick update. i have 85 miles on it since the flash. it is still showing 16. 4 on the overhead display. this truck has never even seen above 16mpg on the overhead display before the flash. i'm inclined to belive it because the needle on the fuel gauge has just barely moved off of the peg. before the flash it would be down over an 8th of a tank. filled it up this morning exactly the same as i have always done.

i know it is too early to tell what it is going to do but i sure am excited right now. i don't look for it to get into the range of my 03 but this is just fine with me!

all grins here:D :D :D :D
