What is the TSB # for the low power fix in OD on my truck. Going to DC on Thursday and I think that I want them to flash the ECM. I tow a 28ft. trailer and it could use more juice in OD. Do you think that I'm taking a risk letting them mess with My Trucks "Brain"? I hate this decision. The truck runs well but "lays down" a little in OD. I read that they sometimes also do an emmissions TSB at the same time here in Calif. Those of you that have done it, was it worth it? Chris

#18-024-00 is the tsb that they did to mine. Can't help you w/ the emissions though, since MD doesn't test diesels. :D Did they check the kick down cable? HTH

HI MOTORHEAD

I had that tsb/ reflash done for low power . The current program in your truck defuels just prior to shifting not to exceed torque limits. Also converter lock up is vary quick once in 3+4 gears which will take a stock motor off its power curve. the reflash will do away with defueling and will change shift points slighty, but will help and last, converter lock up will be delayed a little in a half hearted atemped to keep you on your narrow power band to mask the flawed high . 69 od gear. over all tsb is a better program and is worth having done if you have 3. 54 gears. hope this helps bruce
 
Here's my 2¢ worth..........

DON'T DO IT!!!! I had it done and feel it's worthless. With the Ca emissions it would shift into overdrive regardless of pedal pressure. After the reflash it won't kick into overdrive until you let off the pedal pretty far. It does NOTHING for power, just how it shifts. And personally I don't like the way it shifts now.



As far as the emissions TSB, I never heard of one. Ca. does not smog diesels yet. Give the stupid left wing tree hugging liberals some time though. :mad:
