I had the TSB done a month or so ago that allows for the high idle at start up. When ever I use it, no matter what the TST settings, it throws the check engine light. After at 15-20 starts it goes off. This only happens when I use the high idle. Which is twice. First time I thought it was a fluke, but I did it Sunday and check engine light came on. Any ideas?

I have the TST box and the high idle update on mine and I have not had any trouble like that. I have been having trouble with the box setting a P0336 code (crank position sensor) at random times.

I feel a little bit better. My '03 also sets the P0336 code once in a while and it set the check engine icon. I even went as much as to take off the whole harness and make sure I had good connections then reseat everything. When your P0336 code comes, does your engine's timing go way out of wack? Mine does, it sounds like a PS.

Once in a while it misses three time in a few seconds and on the third miss it sets the code. Sometines I never feel anything I just notice the light on. Every time I check the code it is the same one.

I get the P0336 code (and MIL) on my '03 when I accidentally lug it (it seems maybe the low speed governor doesn't work with the TST). My PMCR has not had the reflash.

Mine also has been setting that same code when luggin it around. And yes usually after the third miss. Also mine has been missing in high gear with a steady rpm around 2000 and temps 600+ and boost around 19. You can hear a couple of pops then it clears.

I'm not sure what the code is. I really don't have a way of checking it. I just think it's weird that the light comes on only when I have the high idle set. I'm going to call.

I got just got this e-mail from a DTR member. Thought I'd share.

is this driverno8?

Hey. . if this is you... I am not a member of TDR and saw you TST post.

Do not let your high idle sit at 1200 rpms. This is what is triggering the CEL. If you set it at 1300 or higher rpms when cold... it will not upset the TST and throw a code. It is just a small quirk. Please share this on the post...

You can also trigger that code if you light cruise around for some time at 1200 rpms with the TST on. It is just a small quirk with the Cam or Crank sensor analog signal.

I am cquestad on the DTR.

well that answers my question about the 1200rpm quirk. but what is the answer to the 70mph+quirk. I have the miss also when im running down the road. It doesnt set any codes then.
