A couple months back I had a dead battery. I jump started it and when I was unhooking the cables, I dropped one on the battery and sparks flew. I drove the truck around and it was low on power. I noticed that the boost light on my TST PM COMP was on constantly. I parked the truck, checked it and called TST. I sent the box back, they said it was fine. I re-installed it today and the boost light (green) still glows. I cleaned all the connectors, everything is soldered. I replaced the fuse, unhooked the edge and PM Comp re-installed it and same thing. Only now I have 0236, 0237, and 1688 codes. The truck starts and runs fine except for the TST box not working. I replaced the map sensor too. Unhooked the battery for a few hours and am still getting the codes. I'm thinking of pulling everything out and re-installing it from scratch. Could the VP being trashed cause the boost light to stay on? I've had this set up for years with no probs until I dropped the jumper cable on the battery. I don't even know where to start with this mess.

Did you send the harness in with the TST box to have checked out? I had a 237 code and my problem ended up being a bad Edge harness in the MAP sensor area.

unhooking the battery does NOT erase codes. need to use a scan tool/smarty. Try that first. the 1688 code is not good.

P1688 (M) Internal Fuel Injection Pump Controller Failure

Internal problem within the fuel injection pump. Low

power, engine derated, or engine stops.

Not good, it seems you have 2 problems, something to do with you map sensor or circuit and you VP is going south.

the high/low power codes could've been set from the jump, and put the truck in "limp" mode. get them cleared and let us know!

I cleaned all the connections again around the MAP and put it all back together, replaced the fuse for the third time last night and that seemed to take care of it but the check engine light was still on and the codes were there. I fired it up this morning and the check engine light is gone and so are the 0237 and 1688 codes. Thanks for the replies.
