I just bought the tst j-hook for my hard piped HY35. $25.

Very beefy part.

My question are:

1. if I install this and boost is raised from 21psi to 28-30 psi which I am hoping for, will my SuperChips reprogramming keep the overboost from setting a code?

2. If not and a code is thrown, what is the code number i can expect and will this result in the engine going into limp mode, or de-fuel or is it just a passive code set that can be reset easily.

Question 2 will only be relevant if I decide to test because I cannot get a definitive answere to question no. 1.

Robert:

The jhook will slow/delay the opening of the wastegate. TST designed this after they "fooled" the map sensor with their harness. Then once higher boost is achieved the computer on the truck thinks its not overboosting. Unless your superchips has programming to adjust max boost, it might likely set a code. I think no one would be the wiser after 50 or so key on/off cycles provided the overboost was noted.

I would call your vendor (superchips?) and ask them. .

Practical Solutions made a boost fooler back in the early 24v days for this concern with hotter than oem injectors...

Buy a Powermax 3 and you'll see why everyone smiles on TST!

Good luck

Andy

The code should be P0234. As for as I know the computer will defuel when I sees too much boost but Im not sure. If it sets the code just erase it with the Superchips

sigh,

the reason I bought the SuperChips is the ease in inputting tire diameter, thus correcting computer settings and speedometer.

The Tst controller has the overboost fooler. A trade off.
