When I first installed my TST on my 305/555 it ran great for about 50 miles and then it started running terrible. It was lerching and jerking and mean while the tach is all over the map (not in sync with the actual RPM). It also had about 7-8 different codes at this point. I called TST informed them of the problems and that while on a camping trip I had to remove the TST just in order to make it run (I was only 15 miles from home on the way out of town) and they instructed me to to reinstall the TST and to check my connections and to use dielectric grease on the connections. I did that. The first time I started the truck after the reinstall it started real rough and threw 3 codes ( P0341, P0335, P0336). I continued to run the truck with the TST installed. It ran fine other then the rough starting each time. Today we were at the store and low and behold it would not even start with the TST installed. IF I just turned the key to run, not start the tach would go all over the place but mainly between 3K and 5K even though the truck was not even running. At this point it would even let me retreive codes. After removal of the TST AGAIN the truck ran just fine. At this point I was able to retreive the codes and they were as follows:p0573, P0335, P0341, P0219, P0340, P0336, and P0483. It may be a bad TST or it's programming may be off at which point a reflash may be in order. In either case I'm sending it back Monday to be looked at. I love the power it provided when it was working but not if all of these problems come with it. My question today is 1) has any one else had similar problems with the TST. 2) Is there any reason I should give up on TST at this point and go with a different box or is their reputation good enough to give them the benifit of the doudt for now. Please, any input would be great.

WOW! That's a lot of codes. That has to have broken the record. :D I don't think anyone has had that bad of luck. You must have gotten a bad box. Send it back. BTW- Give them the chance to make it right. They do make a nice product. And nobody else is close as far as I am concerned at this point.

TST problems

My air conditioner would not work on my o3 I took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. A friend suggested to removed the TST box,I did and it started working again. I called TST and told them what happened, they assured me that the box did not cause the air conditioner to fail. I ask them if I sent the box in would they check and reflash my box. They indicated they would be very happy to check it

out . I sent it in and they had it back in a week, they were very pleasent to deal with.

Sounds to me like your connection to the crank postion sensor or flywheel position sensor is bad -- I can't remember which one reads on the tach -- I think it's the flywheel sensor?

Did you seal the connections with a small bead of silicone grease before plugging them in? Then zip tie them snug so they wouldn't get caught on anything and work the pins loose? Those two steps should be added to the directions!

I'd lay even money on the plugs for one of those has shorted or worked loose. You may be able to 'heal thyself' by doing the above (seal the plugs and zip tie them snug).

I re-read your note and see you used dielectric. Maybe double check the plugs and make sure the crank and flywheel sensors aren't mixed up?

this seems to be an on going thing with the TST box. The connections have to be very good on that box or else it does not work at all. I changed my valve cover gasket (lower) on the weekend , in which i had to disconnnect the injector harness. When i ran the truck after i got the c. e. l. light on and code 336,2147. I took apart the injector plugs and added some dielectric grease and re ran truck after clearing codes. Truck runs great. TST has an awesome product, it's just a bit finicky.
