TST question on my 04.5

I just picked up a used TST and threw it on this weekend.



It works awesome and I love the power it makes, I had been running a Smarty previously.



What I'm wondering is how much boost will it build with the TST only, I am running the stock turbo. On 2X2 I saw 38 this morning and on 3X3 I saw 41. I don't like to run it much higher then that.



Is the WG fooled in to thinking there is less boost and the WG will open, or is it disabled?

The TST is foolin the trucks computer into seeing less boost than your seeing on your gauge. It will give it an "in range" boost # to keep the trucks computer from defueling.

off topic but how do you like the TST compared to the smarty... is the smoke much less? How is the power?

There is no smoke, it is awesome.



I will tow with it for the first time this weekend and I will report back.



I however am concerned about how much boost I am building with the stocky turbo. I can see it saying "Uncle" sometime soon.

I have not run the TST over level 3X3 yet. It builds about 42-44psi at that. With the stock charger I don't want to see anymore then that.



The Smarty is fun to play with, but driving in town and towing I was getting sick of alll the smoke. My Travel Trailer was always black so I am trying something different. Not to mention my towing MPG has never been anything to write home about.



Smarty level 7 I made 431HP, I'm not near that with the TST on3X3.



You also won't have the off the line seat of the pants feel with the TST. You need to realize there is no TM changing. The TST however feels very strong once you get the RPM's built up.

I don't build over 33 or 34 with mine on 5X5. Mine makes some decent smoke on 1x1 if I get on it hard enough.

I don't two with it over 1x1. I've seen my EGT's climb way too fast on anything other than 1x1 and the power is great towing our light little travel trailer.

What model is your TST? I don't think I have the boost limit option.



What program are you running?
