Well here goes...
Installation was straight forward. Instructions were precise except for one thing. There was no picture showing the map sensor. Not necessarily a problem as I knew where it was but maybe someone may not. No biggie. I didnt care much for running the remote lead through the fender well and thru the side where the door is. Instead I ran it thru the firewall in the same fashion as the Banks six gun.
Replacing the boost elbow gave me a feeling of apprehension. Now I have to locate a factory hose clamp"just In case. "
Truck started right up!!!!
Install took about 3. 5 hours due to being swamped at work all day. Cant see any reason it should take more than an hour including the routing of the remote.
Now the fun part!!!!
Get out on the freeway and brought it up to op temp stting at 3/3 nailed it. Power is steady to red line!!Pulls about as hard as the six gun on level 6. Maybe just a tad more because the six gun seems to defuel close to redline. Slowed down and stabbed it part throttle. Boost goes to aprox 30 32 then drops to 26 with a noticable loss of power. A slight increase in throttle boost is back and so is power. Felt like a slight surge or hesitation. Went as high as level 5/3 and the power was incredilble!!It seems as if there would be a hesitation if the throttle wasnt at a certain spot though. Traffic was bad so I couldnt take advantage of this level. Will try again Monday.
Now the bad news.....
Check engine light came on on the way to play. Pulled over an cdes 335 340 and 341 were set. Started truck backup and it died. On the 4th try it stayed running. Came back home and left battery disconnected for a couple hours and light went off but codes remained. Rechecked connections at crank and cam and used a tad of dielectric which I didnt have with me when I first installed. Im impressed with the power but its useless to me if Im going to be thinking about when this new truck is going to leave me on the side of the road. Oh well tomorrow is another day.
