Need Advice...Bombing

Found this from the TST site:



TST has dyno tested many aftermarket items such as low restriction air filters and mufflers, complete 4-inch exhaust systems, turbine housings and complete turbochargers; and has found nothing that helps reduce exhaust manifold or piston temperatures.



This was found uin the last sentence before the graph.

You can't take those comments out of context to mean anything in general because they're meant to apply only to the differences between their Powermax products.



The entire text is:

"TST PowerMax™3 with ten power level remote with digital readout for pyrometer, oil temperature, boost, and power level, for $899. 00. Has the same features of the previously mentioned remote but allows the user to select exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and oil temperature limit on the fly for automatic power control at maximum temps".



"Exhaust gas temperatures are normally safe on PowerMax™ or PowerMax™2 if the rest of the vehicle is stock, however we do recommend use of pyrometers. Adding injectors to either PowerMax™ or PowerMax™2 will result in more power but will put exhaust temperatures into the danger zone for continuous use. The PowerMax™3 will give extreme exhaust temperatures with or without an injector change and is not for towing, however, if using the PowerMax™3 with either remote, you may tow with it at lower levels. I understood same way, "if you use TST Powermax 3 on maximum setting for towing, no matter what you add, EGT will be in dangerous zone anyway "

Note that the top hp on the graph was 300. Within that power range, the need for air system upgrades, and any observable improvements in egt from them, will be much less than at 400+ hp.
