Towing performance

I read this on GM's web siteas well. My 99 hitch pin hole was enlongated and so was my 2001 after towing with a heavy TT. I had a local guy build a new hitch(what a mistake) welded it on to frame. Now my new welded on hitch is enlongated. What a bunch of BS. This problem causes a klunk on occasion when accelerateing off a stop. Any of you guys with the Titan towing heavy loads notice this pin hole enlogation problem? Now I haqve to get that welded on POC off. I saved a buck. Like I tell my customers "being cheap can be expensive". Will I ever learn?

What I've done in similar situations is to enlarge the pinhole to fit a bushing made of softer steel with an inside diameter to fit your ball shank. This way it's a simple matter to replace the bushing when it becomes elongated. No matter how tight the ball it will wiggle when you put a heavy enough load to it.

You might want to get 2pcs 5/8 X 2 X6" c. r. s. drill a 5/8 hole in them and weld them over the sides of your elongated holes.

The problem with standard hitches pulling a heavy TT is the wall thickness of the 2 x2 1/4" wall tube.

Hope this helps.
