Hello, My truck is a 2005 2500 4wd 5.9 and 48re. Has been difficult to get into park, cable popped off the shift bracket at the trans. Got it temporarily working by readjusting the shift cable. The nylon connector on the trans end of the cable is worn, as well as heavy rust on the shifter bracket as well. The ball end looks like it has diminished in size due to rusting. I now have a new cable and shift bracket. After researching with my factory shop manual, I realize the TTVA has to be removed in order to replace the shift bracket. Any tips, tricks, or horror stories form people who have already done this would be appreciated.
The second question, is the stock fuel filter canister unit still available at all? I replaced the line and banjo bolt/ check valve that goes to the back of the head a couple of months ago. Fun job! A couple of the other lines are really crunchy as well as the unit itself. It looks like more leaks waiting to happen. Any info on this would be appreciated also. That's what living in Mass. does to your stuff!

If you need to drop the valve body - unscrew 2 of the shortest bolts and replace them with 2 of the longest ones, by doing so you can drop the VB almost 2 inches and disconnect the park rod without hassle. Same if it goes on.
Fuel filter canister should be available, it was used from 2000-2007. Ebay is your friend for good used units as it was very expensive new.

The OEM fuel filter canister on the side of the block has been discontinued based on my recent search. I ended up cleaning mine to reuse. There is a small passage in the bottom of the bowl that allows the water in fuel to be drained. Mine was completely impacted with dirt and not operable. I was able to clean it out and now need to see if it works once I fire my remanufactured engine. If the OEM unit does not work I will look to delete the OEM unit and add an aftermarket WIF separator type filter. I already have a 2 micron GPD filter before the CP3. I note that Fleece has some options on the delete and WIF separator filter. There are likely others.

I have also saw the fuel canisters for sale on FB Marketplace.
