Has anybody found a decent tube setup for a DRW yet? I saw some the other day and thought about flagging the dude down, but didn't.

I ordered my truck with the dealer installed diamond plate running boards, but I'm sick of them.

They don't help keep the truck clean and the bed extensions are weak for climbing in/out of the bed hooking up trailers and such.

I bought a set of XL polished Stainless wheel to wheel tube steps for my truck. Paid only $450 for them. They flare out in front of the rear wheels. I can stand on them without any problems (I weigh 220 or so). I hve a truck box and couldn't reach in the bed without steps (and I am 6' 3" tall). The only thing I don't like is they REALLY don't keep the truck clean. But then again, I wash it every six months or so (whether it needs it or not).

I paid $450 installed. I can get a picture tomorrow if need be (it's dark outside now)

I have black powder coated Westins..... have them on 3 trucks and put them on the 05 4" lower for the wife... work well... around 200 or so wholesale

I have the Stainless Steel Willmore Nerf Bars that run wheel to wheel and turn out for the dual wheels. I weight 350#'s and stand on the rear of the bars to get into the bed of my truck. They don't budge! :D If I remember right they were $408 delivered to my door.

Their are many manufacturers of tube step bars, or Nerf bars as some call them. I think the most important thing to look for is the materials from which they are made. In my biased opinion, anything but stainless steel is a waste of money. I have had 5 trucks in the last 14 years and all of them but one had Nerf bars. I found out pretty quick, that anything but SS is a waste of time. Chrome, powder coatings, and painted bars just don't last. The finish is marred by rocks, mud and salt, and in no time it looks bad. If you live anywhere near the salt belt, one good winter will do in a set of regular Nerf bars.

I had Westin signature series bars before, and they held up very well. They came with a 5 year warranty and outlasted that. Today, their are at least twenty makers of Nerf bars, many of which I have never herd of before I started looking for bars for my '97. I am sure most of these newer manufacturers are fine suppliers, but be very careful of no name brands that offer warranties. A warranty is useless if the company is no longer in business when you need them. I found several nice looking bars while I was combing the web, many wheel to wheel that looked nice. I settled on the Putco brand, and their Boss Bars. They are a very upstanding company that is known for quality products. I like the fact that they offer 4" stainless tubing, it goes very well with the Dodge trucks. My Boss Bars are wheel to wheel , with a flair-out for the DRW's, makes getting into the bed very easy and looks nice doing it.

I purchased a set of xl nerf boards for my pickup. They are nerf bars with anodized aluminum on top to form a step. I bought them from the company owner in Nebraska. He is a great guy to deal with and showed me the dodge quad cab dually wheel to wheel version and they looked very nice. Here is the address http://www.xlboards.net/

I looked at westins, go rhino, ici, lerevne, these are most sturdy by far.

If you call, tell Jack that I spoke highly of them.

PS: there is a company out of canada that copied the design and hanging brackets but use lesser materials.

side steps/nerf bars s/s $225.00

I bought my last two sets of stainless steel nerf bars for my trucks from Summit racing. I bought their brand which is actually made by Westin. Cost, $225+ tax.

Thanks for the pics and links guys. Now, my only decision is whether or not to leave the diamond plate mud flaps, which tie in the diamond plate bed caps

These are the tubes I put on my dually. They are very unique, first because of the look; next because they mount to the four body mounts; and lastly because they are completely adjustable. I have them pretty tight with the body but you can lower/raise and adjust how much they stick out. I like them and they look nice, but the only problem is they are slippery when wet. I'm going to Line-X them. They're all aluminum so I spent $520 delivered to California.
